Class: Enhancing Silkie Images (ESI)
This class covers the basics of enhancing color images printed on silk fabric. Over-stitching hair/clothing and adding texture to basic images printed on silk enhance the realistic value of the object.

Lesson One covers the assessment of an image for enhancing, selection of threads, and designing a stitch plan.

Lesson Two covers the embroidery of faux human hair.

Lesson Three covers the texturing of the image by adding dimensional elements.
Supplies:

-- One 14-inch square of muslin
-- One 14-inch square of flannel or very thin batting
-- Thin embroidery, sharp, or beading needle (Comfortable for you)
-- One pkg 7mm green silk ribbon (at least 2 yards)
-- One pkg 4mm green silk ribbon
-- One pkg each 7mm rose/pink/white silk ribbon
-- Selection of needles (tapestry, chenille, embroidery)
-- Embroidery scissors
-- Hoop that allows at least 8 inches of the entire block to stretch flat (recommend Q-Snap frame)
-- Optional: Strips of waste fabric or bias edges for wrapping hoops

A full-color image printed on silk and silk thread for hair will be provided by the teacher.

Note:
Extra Security must be taken into consideration since this is a night class. The building must be locked during the evening and early morning hours. It is acceptable to meet in someone's home if the accommodations are large enough to set up several long craft tables.

A pot-luck dinner and snacks should be on hand...and lot's of caffeine!
